Stockroom.com Adds Stormy Leather to its Fetish Family
LOS ANGELES, CA — When browsing the internet for high quality pervertables, the educated keyboard turns to Stockroom.com. When in San Francisco and seeking high quality fetish wear and toys, the informed body turns to Stormy Leather. Two good turns deserve another, which is why the fashion and function conscious kinksters at Stockroom.com have bought their favorite Bay Area specialty store. As part of its impressive professional growth spurt, Joel Tucker’s Stockroom.com has added Stormy Leather to its expanding list of acquisitions, which includes the high end latex design and manufacturer, Syren Latex.
Tucker is excited about the addition of Stormy Leather to his corner of the fetish retail universe not only because of its impressive inventory and reputation, but because of the travel options it affords him. “This acquisition also gives me all the excuse I need to spend a lot more of my own time in San Francisco,” he confesses, “and I am looking forward to that. The whole Stormy staff seems to be excited and supportive about the new direction, and I am enjoying getting to know them better.”
Consumers eager excellently designed and manufactured goods have long known both Stockroom.com and Stormy Leather, each having been born during the 1980s. In 2002, Stormy Leather founder Kathy Andrews decided that she’d has enough of what On Our Backs called working “like a crazed elf in a leaking basement.” She sold Stormy Leather to Florida’s Eurotique, whose owners decided that this year was their year to retire. The company’s fans and friends will be impressed by the improvements that Tucker’s crew has in mind.
As was the case with the Syren product line, the entire Stormy Leather production team will be added to the Stockroom family — and the brick and mortar location will enjoy a complete makeover. “Reinvigorating the Stormy image will involve the same strategy of carefully redesigning the store and selectively editing and adding to the product line that we exercised with Syren Latex,” Stockroom/Syren latex designer Jeff of LA explains. According to Jeff, “The renovated Stormy store will not only be more aesthetically pleasing, but visitors will find it easier to shop.”
An important step toward creating greater ease of shopping is moving some of its current product inventory, so eager shoppers are encouraged to head in on April 20th for a huge “Before” sale that will run until April 30th. Starting in May, the shop will be temporarily closed while it receives its face lift in anticipating of its return to society with a Grand Opening play party and fashion show slated for Friday, May 18th.
While customers and involved industry insiders are all delighted with the newest member in the Stockroom family, perhaps none are quite as pleased as Tucker. “When I started doing leather crafts in my living room while I was still a college student, I didn’t really imagine that such a sizable and complex operation would sprout from that seed, or that it would allow me to work with such an admirable, entertaining, diverse, smart (and let’s not forget cool and glamorous) team of individuals,” he effuses.
In addition to the new addition, Stockroom.com has also developed a Kinklab line, redesigned its home site and added new user-friendly features, and added GayStockroom.com. Just in time for national Masturbation month in May, it has also teamed up with Kink.com to provide for all its sites toy store needs.
