Stephanie Swift Fundraiser Set
LONG BEACH, Calif. – A fundraising benefit for veteran adult performer Stephanie Swift will take place Saturday at Shore Ultra Lounge in Long Beach, Calif. Called “Sex at the Shore,” the event will run from 9 p.m. until 1:30 a.m. Tickets are $35.Swift, 37, was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and underwent a double mastectomy in August. She faces continuing chemotherapy.
A former Wicked Pictures contract star, Swift has performed in adult moves since 1995. AVN named her Female Performer of the Year in 1998.
The benefit was organized by adult studio X-Play/All Media Play.
“I had heard about Stephanie’s breast cancer, and I ran into her this past weekend at Adultcon,” said the studio’s Jeff Mullen. “We talked for a while, and hopefully we can help her out by letting people know about her problem and assist her in raising some much-needed money.
“We had been so busy delivering our new movie Flight Attendants when I realized that in the grand scheme of things, there are other things much more important than porn comedies,” he added. “Sometimes in life we move through at light speed, concentrating on our own business, and then you hear of somebody that is in desperate need of some help — like Stephanie. Well, now is the time to help.”
Fans and industry insiders who cannot make the benefit but would like to help defray Swift’s medical bills may contribute to a special fund established for that purpose: Stephanie Swift Breast Cancer Care Fund, P.O. Box 9864, Canoga Park, Calif. 91309. The fund is administered by Swift’s mother, who is employed by the hospital at which Swift is being treated, St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, Calif.
“If you can’t make the event this weekend, you can still help out with a check,” Mullen offered, adding that Swift is in high spirits and confident she can beat the cancer with treatment.
Shore Ultra Lounge is located at 6200 E. Second Street in Long Beach.
