Startup Lets Users Create ‘Personalized Adult Magazines’
YNOT – A web-based service currently in beta mode claims it will allow end-users to skip the endless searching for porn by tailoring a digital magazine to their specific tastes.
According to the developers, “Faploid is scanning a million pages of adult content every single day, looking at the type of [material], its key attributes and how it is shared across the web. Faploid uses this information to match content to your personal interests and then delivers them automatically to your personal Faploid magazine.”
Although the site doesn’t mention what form the magazine takes, how it will be delivered or whether fees are involved, it does claim to work with “professional content partners,” guarantees the quality of the material it presents and promises a safe, private environment for users.
Chief Executive Officer Tony Tillate indicated the idea for the product arose from generalized consumer frustration with weeding through the volume of adult content on the web. With so much porn available online, how is an Average Joe or Jane supposed to find exactly what he or she seeks without spending too much time perusing items that don’t interest them?
“No one is the same; everyone has their personal interests,” Tillate said. “When searching for adult content online, you will find a lot of providers. The overkill of online porn is getting worse, and it generally takes too much time to find content that fulfils your needs and interests. Also the chance that a virus [or] harmful or illegal content is downloaded is very high.”
Tillate said Faploid takes the tedium out of searching for porn by cooperating with adult brands, performers and other content creators who are active on social media, thereby assisting both fans an producers.
“Faploid takes a lot of work off their shoulders,” according to the website. “We bring the most relevant articles, responses and comments, as well as photos and videos, in real-time to a personal magazine. To be able do this, we use keywords and follow alerts that we pick up.”
The company actively seeks new content partners, offering “to drive traffic to all of your products and premium content” through branded pages and display advertising.
“Faploid … automatically learns user preferences and gets smarter with time,” Tillate noted. “For publishers, Faploid is a powerful channel that extends the reach of your publication and exposes your adult content to a broader audience that is interested, active and engaged. Faploid partner content looks as your editors intended and as your audience expects.”
The website is expected to leave beta and open to the public sometime during the second quarter of 2013.
