Staff Changes at AVN Online
CHATSWORTH, CA – MJ McMahon has been named publisher of AVN Online. McMahon succeeded Farley Cahen, who in 2007 was named director of licensing for the AVN Media Network.McMahon began his career at AVN Online in 2005 as an associate editor. He was named associate publisher of the magazine in March 2007. In mid-2007, he was responsible for introducing a series of trade-show publications.
“Early on, MJ had the vision to turn [AVN] Online into a premier new-media publication,” said AVN Media Network Chief Executive Officer Darren Roberts. “He plays an active role in the adult-entertainment industry and knows what motivates and excites his audience.”
McMahon said, “We have some amazing plans for 2008, and I look forward to strengthening AVN Online’s position as the top trade journal in the adult online marketplace. I’m thankful for the opportunity to move this publication forward.”
AVN Online also has a new editor, Sherri L. Shaulis. Formerly the editor in chief at Gold Country Media and a reporter for The Vindicator in Youngstown, OH, Shaulis has an extensive news-reporting background. She also wrote entertainment content for LifeOnTheNet.com and taught at West Virginia University.
Shaulis succeeded former editor Kathee Brewer, who after seven years on staff left the magazine September 30th to pursue other interests.
