Sssh.com Releases ‘Mirror Game’ Soundtrack
Boston, MA – Director Angie Rowntree and Sssh.com recently announced the release of the soundtrack to Rowntree’s latest film, Mirror Game. Composed by Roland Moralis, the film’s score is now available on iTunes, Apple Music and Spotify.
“Roland did such a brilliant job with the Mirror Game score, creating a musical tapestry that helps set the film’s tone and really reflects the mystery and complexity of the story,” Rowntree said. “His sense of melody is just wonderful and I’m very proud that one of my films gets to serve as a vehicle for a new audience to be exposed to his music.”
The soundtrack features lush orchestrations and somber, delicate melodies. As a good score should, this one enhances and deepens our appreciation of what is being communicated to us visually.
Throughout the film’s crucial moments, the music serves as an added performer in a supporting role. All bound in tightly woven motifs of delicate piano lines, sudden punctuations of dramatic strings, full orchestral epic themes, creative use of sustained drone tones and nuanced, atmospheric elements.
While reminiscent at times of soundtracks to major works like Stranger Things or the Harry Potter series, Moralis’ compositions never descend into the merely derivative or cliché. Subtlety prevails throughout the score, as calm moments evolve into dramatic climaxes so smoothly, “the listener almost doesn’t notice the tension in these compositions creeping up on them until it’s there,” Rowntree said.
Victor Hugo once wrote “Music expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.” It completes the picture you’re trying to paint.
