Spurned Lover Sues Girl Gossip Site
PITTSBURGH, PA — Hell hath no fury like a lover scorned, as Tasha C. Joseph, the owner of DontDateHimGirl.com recently discovered. Or perhaps the fury increases when the lover in question finds their name dragged through the virtual cyber mud.Todd J. Hollis is an attorney as well as a pissed-off ex-boyfriend. According to reports in the Pittsburgh Post-GazetteM, Hollis found anonymous posts about him written by two different people on Joseph’s site – which is dedicated to “the war on cheating men” and he wasn’t very happy about what they had to say about him.
The 38-year-old criminal attorney with 12 years of experience under his belt contends that Joseph “conspired with disingenuous people whose only agenda is to attack the character of those individuals who have been identified on the site.” Additionally, he complains that the dating gossip site does not provide work hard enough to ensure that the statements posted on it are true and accurate.
Joseph is a 33-year-old columnist for the Miami Herald and points out that anyone can post a rebuttal if they feel they’ve been misrepresented or unfairly accused of wrongdoing.
Lida Rodriguez-Taseff is representing Joseph in the case and considers the entire matter to be a tempest in a teapot, insisting that the site is no different from a coffee shop or other venue where people casually speak their minds. As Rodriguez-Taseff sees it, “You would never think of holding the coffee shop owner liable because other people went in and defamed other people.”
