Spencer Bradley Talks Sex Work in Frank ‘Stripped By SIA’ Interview
Adult film star, model and feature dancer Spencer Bradley pulls no punches as she shares her perspective on sex work, avoiding burnout, and achieving a healthy work/life balance, as the guest on a riveting, sometimes emotional, episode of the “Stripped by SIA” podcast.
Hosted by Steph Sia, “Stripped by SIA” is a podcast about strippers and other sex workers with an aim to educate the masses about sex work. The show and this channel provides safe space for sex workers and service providers to speak about their experiences – the good, the bad, and the ugly – with an effort to normalize and de-stigmatize these professions.
Bradley discusses her entry into sex work as a stripper in her college days, how becoming an adult performer helped with her depression, the learning curve in sex work, the importance of knowing your worth, and standing up for yourself.
When the conversation turns to chemical dependence in sex work, Bradley shares part of her own recovery story, notes that she advocates for harm reduction strategies, and comments on the benefits of micro-dosing,
“We’ve all been there: burnout. Sex workers are no strangers to burnout,” Sia writes in the show notes. “As independent contractors, we are not always in the position to say no to work, so I invite adult performer, Spencer Bradley, onto the show to share their experiences on how they deal with it all.
“Having worked as a stripper previously, we compare and contrast just how vastly different working as a dancer is vs. working on-screen in pornography. The luxury and privilege of having the choice to not go to work or hide in the change room differs greatly from when you’re working on set. You have to work through it, and put your happy face on, which doesn’t always contribute to a healthy mentality.
“Spencer shares their methods on how they prevent getting burnt out, recognizing your boundaries and how they practice unwinding.
“Having Spencer on the show was a real treat,” added Sia.
“Not only were they extremely entertaining for my listeners, but they were also able to provide a very transparent lens on working in the adult industry. Spencer did not sugarcoat the realities of sex work, which was a refreshing perspective.”
Bradley commented, “This interview was particularly raw. I can tell Sia truly cares about sharing stories that give civilians an accurate look inside the world of sex work. I’m thankful I got to speak with her and I’m excited for my fans to discover her podcast.”
