Some Deem Sports Illustrated Plane Promo Pic Pornographic
DALLAS, TX — Once upon a time, planes “moved their tails for you.” Today, if they show too much tail, they’re no longer moving in the right direction. According to a number of Southwest Airlines passengers, the company has let the friendly skies get a little too friendly to still be family friendly. At issue is a Sports Illustrated magazine promo image featuring Israeli supermodel, Bar Rafaeli, wearing a white bikini – all courtesy of the side of a Boeing 737.
While some might smile at the image of a pretty girl soaking up the sun, not all of Southwest Airlines’ passengers have curled their lips in quite that direction. Instead, many have informed the company’s corporate blog site that the image “looks like a flying porn ad,” makes the plane appear to be “covered in pornography” and is offensive to families.
Not everyone agrees, of course. Some have applauded the airline’s “fun attitude,” instead.
Those not comfortable with that particular kind of “fun” need only wait a few months, once the promotion ends and the planes returns to its more familiar appearance.
