Smash Taps Wyatt Case for VP Spot
LOS ANGELES – Adult studio Smash Pictures hired 23-year adult industry veteran Wyatt Case to fill the position of vice president. His duties will include leading the company into doubled production during 2015.
“Wyatt has a very steady hand running the Smash ship,” said Smash owner Dan Quinn. “He started mid-March 2015 and I did not get to sit down with him at the office until early April. I just could not wait to have lunch with him.”
Case moved from Boston to California in 1992 to work for Chuck Zane at Zane Entertainment, eventually claiming the position of sales manager. When IVD bought the Zane line, Case transitioned to the new company.
Two years later, he joined JM Productions, but working in Paso Robles, California meant a long commute from his home in Chatsworth, Calif. The move to Smash made sense not only from a professional standpoint, but also for his personal life.
“Wyatt was my sales rep for 10 years at his last job over at JM, and he would call on me weekly and send over these really cool sales promotions by email, and sure enough, I would buy,” Quinn said. “Every so often I would go by the JM warehouse and say ‘hi,’ so it came very natural to ask him to come on board [with Smash].
“In our office he also has by his side a great secretary and bookkeeper, Jen, and Carlos, who oversees all of our warehouse, Smash video vault and foreign customers’ needs,” Quinn continued. “He’s a great match for Smash.”
In fact, according to Case, the Smash team played a large role in his decision to take the vice president job.
“The people Dan has at Smash are all extremely competent and a crack crew to work with,” he said. “They are super organized and it makes things easy. I just want to say I appreciate Chuck Zane, [IVD owner] Frank Koretsky, [JM Productions owner] Jeff Mike and Dan Quinn who took a chance on me, and I want to thank them personally. It was a pleasure to work for them, and they were very helpful with my career in this industry.”
Since Case assumed his new position, Smash has released two new titles: Daddy’s Home 3, a depiction of stepdaughters seducing the stepfathers, and Cuddles, “a more intimate collection of scenes,” according to Case.
“We have one release per month now, but we’re going to increases [the number of releases] to two,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of great new content coming down the pipeline.
“There are some good people coming on board that I respect and who do quality work — just their name on the box is going to get the customer wanting to check it out,” Case added. “There are a lot of exciting things that are going happen this year with Smash Pictures.”
More DVD production also means more content on the studio’s official website, SmashPictures.com. The site is part of the Porn Purveyors affiliate program, which pays up to $35 per sign-up, a flat $30 per month a member remains active or as much as 65-percent recurring revenue share.
