Small Studio, Big Ambition
YNOT – At a time when “Wal-Martization” is driving mom-and-pop operations out of business in record numbers, one small adult studio is determined to prove success needn’t be dependent upon size.
Forbidden Fruits Films began when swingers Jay and Jodi West grabbed their camera to document a few crazy ideas as webisodes. Two feature films later, the Florida-based couple is generating buzz for their offbeat style and willingness to tackle sexual taboos.
Meet the Fosters, the second Forbidden Fruits feature, received an exclusive sneak-peek preview on HotMovies.com last week. Howard Levine of Exile Distribution, the DVD distributor for Forbidden Fruits, called Meet the Fosters “the [studio’s] most outrageous production so far.” A HotMovies spokesman said he expects the new film’s popularity to eclipse the success enjoyed by the studio’s previous release.
The Wests “explore taboo elements in a style that’s undeniably hot, quirky and real,” said HotMovies Director of Business Development James Cybert. “The viewer feels like a fly on the wall, getting to see something he definitely shouldn’t be allowed to see. It’s amazingly well crafted and pushes the envelope in all the right ways.”
Starring Jodi West, Desi Dalton, Raven LeChance and Esmi Lee alongside male talent Levi Cash, Tony Rubino, Jimmy Legend and Danta LeChance, Meet the Fosters follows a group of hot but morally flexible ladies who employ of-age refuges from the foster care system as pawns to be traded for sexual favors.
“We are very proud of this movie,” Jay West said. “It’s another level up from what we’ve been doing. It’s so wrong [that] it’s right, and we are really excited to share it with HotMovies and the world.”
Meet the Fosters and the thousands of other video-on-demand offerings at HotMovies may be promoted through the MovieDollars affiliate program, which pays a 20-percent recurring revenue share. Studios also earn 20 percent of sales when they make their titles available through HotMovies.
