Siri Dahl Joins Victim Advocacy Project’s Board of Directors
Los Angeles, CA – Performer Siri Dahl has joined the newly-formed non-profit Victim Advocacy Project’s (VAP) Board of Directors.
Per the organization’s Mission Statement, “VAP believes that being a victim of a crime is burden enough, our advocates are here to help lighten your load on your way to recovery.”
Further, “the Victim Advocacy Project was created to help support victims of crime and their family members start their trauma recovery journey. Through compiled resources and a team of advocates, we can provide help locating therapists, attorneys, and support groups for any victim. VAP can secure funds to help victims get treatments, medications, counseling appointments, security systems and much more at no cost.”
In her new role, Dahl will work to raise the profile of the company and its advocacy objectives to assist survivors of crime and traumatic violence by locating therapists, attorneys and support groups.
“Especially in our culture’s increasingly sex-worker-hostile environment, the services VAP provide to all victims are essential,” said Dahl. “I am so thrilled to be on the Board of the VAP and help pursue our mission in a way that doesn’t judge or stigmatize victims who also happen to be sex workers.”
VAP also aims to ease the burden of difficult personal recovery by securing funds to help survivors receive proper treatment, medications, counseling appointments and security systems at no cost to them.
“As founder of The Victim Advocacy Project, I speak on behalf of our organization when I say we are proud to have Siri Dahl join our board of directors,” said Melissa Centi. “Siri is smart, articulate and resourceful. She brings to our board knowledge and support of the sex work community. VAP strives to insure that all communities feel safe in coming forward to receive help after their trauma.”
