Siouxsie Q Hosts Open Relationship Q&A with Director and Cast of New Polyamory Stage Play
Performer and media strategist Siouxsie Q will host polyamory-themed events in conjunction with the world premiere of the new stage play, Mono/Poly, presented by Tubeman Productions. Sex-positive influencers and allies are invited to attend a special sneak peek of the production on October 4th at 8pm at the Odyssey Theater.
“My background is in theater, and I’ve been polyamorous for as long as I can remember,” says Siouxsie Q. “I’m excited to bring these two important parts of my life together and share it with Los Angeles, as well as some of my favorite adult industry influencers, including sex and trauma specialist Jimenikia Eborn, BBW starlet Genevieve LaFleur, and transgender icon and entrepreneur Buck Angel.”
Siouxsie Q and Tubeman Productions first met back in 2017 when they collaborated together on Q’s acclaimed mermaid musical, Fish Girl, during its Los Angeles and Portland debuts. She also worked with the Tubeman team during the 2019 Hollywood Fringe season, creating and implementing their influencer marketing program.
Mono/Poly is about two monogamous couples who encounter a polyamorous triad at a costume party. The triad becomes entwined in the business and personal lives of the first two couples, forcing them to examine their long-held beliefs about love and marriage. Although sexually free, the members of the triad adhere to their own fairly rigid ethical code. Although the new sex-comedy Mono/Poly does not contain nudity, there are frank discussions of sexuality, straight and gay, with some suggestive depiction.
This exclusive preview of the premiere production will showcase the talents of director/playwright Brian Reynolds, who will step into the starring role of Scott for one night only. After the curtain falls, journalist/performer/educator Siouxsie Q will invite the audience to stay for a live interview and Q&A with Reynolds and his executive producer (and wife) Morgan MacDouglas about their polyamorous relationship of 25 years (and counting), which served as inspiration for the play.
Q will also host a Q&A with the entire cast following the October 26th performance to welcome a non-monogamy social group from the Inland Empire who will be attending that night.
Mono/Poly runs from October 3 – November 10, 2019, and tickets can be purchased at www.monopolytheplay.com.
