ONTARIO, Calif. – The Silhouette S8, manufactured by CalExotics, has received a prestigious Red Dot Award for product design. One of the largest design competitions in the world, the Red Dot Awards bestow an internationally recognized seal of design quality.

Although a complete list of 2016 honorees has not yet been announced, more than 200 products in 31 categories received the designation in 2015.

For the 2016 cycle, participants from 57 nations submitted 5,200 products. Forty recognized experts from around the world evaluated the products on innovation, formal quality, functionality and ecological compatibility.

“We are greatly honored and humbled by this award,” said CalExotics founder and Chief Executive Officer Susan Colvin. “My team sought to create something unique, and after thoughtful planning the S8 was crafted. Winning the Red Dot Award gives us a huge sense of accomplishment.”

The Silhouette S8 is a body-forming massager featuring a completely flexible design that offers users endless possibilities in the bedroom. The uniquely shaped, USB-rechargeable massager is made of body-safe silicone, making it environmentally friendly and eco-conscious.

The Silhouette collection by CalExotics is no stranger to awards. In 2015, Silhouette received a Creativity 45th Print and Packaging Award for creative design.

The Red Dot Awards will be presented during a July ceremony in Germany.
