Sex Toy Thief Applies Sticky Fingers Thrice
NATICK, MA — Some people have a favorite place to shop and others have a favorite place to shoplift. According to Natick, MA police, at least one Boston man has a penchant for pinching sex toys at Spencer’s Gifts. As reported in the Metro West Daily, 46-year-old Rodney O. Black found more than a few things that appealed to his sense of sexual playfulness at the Natick Collection Spencer’s Gifts shop. Alas for his police record, he didn’t like what he saw enough to pay for it.
So enamored of the store was Black that police spokesman Lt. Brian Grassey says he walked off with more than $250 worth of sex toys, undergarments, creams and other assorted accessories.
While some might call that a good haul and move on to other hobbies, Black apparently decided that he’d figured out the way to inexpensive sexual excitement and went back for more. Twice.
Police received a call at 8:19 pm reporting that Black, who had used his slight of hand tricks to make merchandise go away earlier in the same day, was back at it.
As Grassey explains it, “They were able to slow him down enough until we got there.”
Once there, Grassey says Black “said he owned his own store, which is unconfirmed, and he was going to resell the items.”
That’s certainly one way to hold down costs during a recession.
Black has been charged with larceny of property worth more than $250 in his first shoplifting excursion and two more counts of shoplifting more than $1,000 worth of goods in his second and third attempts.
