Sex-Positive Web Series Seeks Crowdfunding
LOS ANGELES – Adult performer and Penthouse Pet Chanel Preston has launched a crowdfunding campaign that seeks $10,000 in underwriting for a sex-positive, web-based series and associated online community.
According to Preston, Naked with Chanel will provide men and women a platform for learning and discussing sex in fun and positive ways.
“I want to help people shed the inhibitions and negative attitudes currently keeping them from understanding themselves better — hence the name ‘Naked with Chanel,’” she said. “[The goal is to] help people get naked metaphorically, so they can lead more informed and fulfilled lives.
“I want to address social issues surrounding sexuality in America and help people become more informed about how our attitudes about sex are affecting our lives,” Preston added. “In my time in [the adult] industry, I have seen people’s lives change when they are given the tools to feel more comfortable with themselves which, in turn, has lead them to make better decisions.”
Preston said she chose crowdfunding platform Indiegogo not only because the site was founded as a tool for independent filmmakers and attracts a loyal base of indie backers, but also because she is committed to the community aspect of her project.
“I decided to go with Indiegogo.com because it allows me the chance to make this a community project from the very beginning,” she averred. “By inviting my fans, friends and all supporters of sex-positive platforms to be ‘investors’ in Naked with Chanel, it allows everyone to be a part of this entire project.”
A former exotic dancer, Preston entered the adult industry in 2010 at the age of 24. She has been a consistent award-winner since then. As host of X3Sixty’s cable entertainment program Inside Adult, her humor, straightforward approach to sexual topics and gregarious nature charm fans and foes alike, earning her kudos from within and without the adult industry.
“I have worked hard to change people’s minds about the stigmas surrounding sex and will continue to help address issues harming our sexual psyche,” she said.
