Sex in the Streets: Scandalizing the Great White North
MONTREAL – Quebec-based adult content producer AD4 Distribution is adept at creating media buzz. The company’s latest very-public stunt had performer Zoé Zebra banging 25 strangers in an RV parked on the main street of Gatineau, which lies just across the river from the Canadian capital of Ottawa. Each of the participants paid $15 for the privilege, thus funding Zebra’s planned breast enhancement and providing AD4 with material for its next release.
is a man who knows how to get the public’s attention.
“We distribute the best French porn from Montréal to Paris with partners like Colmax in France and Pulse in LA,” AD4 Distribution President André de la Seine told YNOT. “Four years ago, we started the label AD4X for the production of exclusive French-English Canadian content. Now we are one of the most important producers and distributors in Canada.”
YNOT.com: When and why did you launch in the Quebec market?
André de la Seine: We launched the website last year. It’s natural for us: We are from Montreal, and our first language is French. We have the luck to have beautiful French women in Canada, so now we want to share all around the world.
We realize nobody makes “good porn” with a professional attitude. All the smaller producers, “they want to hang out with the girls,” and for us it’s not acceptable. It’s a business and that’s it for us.
What kind of content do you produce?
We offer casting, girl-girl, some trannies and classic boy-girl. Recently, we bought BrunoB.com and all of its content. With this catalog and the first Quebec porn company called Erobec, which owns more 350 scenes with major Quebecois porn stars, we have content ranging from vintage to the next-door girl we’ll find this week.
Is Quebecois porn as distinctive as Quebecois music, TV and film? If so, what makes it different from content in other part of Canada?
Like the music, it’s different because of the language. But basically the consumer feels more intimate with our girls because they have the chance to meet her at the corner of the street or they have gone to school with her. Plus, they like the sexual language we use here.
You have been gaining a lot of media attention for your “trailer productions,” most notably Zoé Zebra’s Boule-o-Thon in Gatineau. Where did that idea come from?
For the Boule-o-Thon, it all started with a discussion during shooting in July. Zoé said to me, “André, I want big boobs. You know I’m very horny. I can fuck 25 men anytime.”
We started to laugh about that, and finally after the summer holidays I called her and said, “Do you really want your boobs?” She said, “Yes!” So we launched the idea of the Boule-o-Thon during a big party with five other porn stars and invited everybody to help to realize the Zoé’s dream for a mammary implant.
In 48 hours, all the radio stations, TV stations and newspapers in Quebec talked about this event. The next day the mayor of Gatineau said it’s a disgusting event, and the news was published in the English part of Canada and now around the world.
How difficult is it to shoot in a trailer? How hard is it to find amateur talent and get them to sign papers?
We have made over seven projects in an RV. We developed some tips, and now we are very good at shooting in a small location.
For the amateur talent, it’s very easy. The Canadian people are very open about their sexuality. We have two girls on every set to take pictures and have all the authorizations we need to be legal. All the amateurs have the choice to wear a mask if they want keep this part of their personal life anonymous.
Is Quebecois porn known outside Quebec? Should the American adult industry be paying attention to it?
Quebec porn is starting to be more and more popular. The evolution over 10 years from the DVD to the web makes it easy to find what type of porn or girl you like. The French accent is very popular.
We have people all around the world on the website. Everybody says the girls from Montreal are very hot. For example, we have Lanny Barbie and Malesia, who were Vivid Girls a couple years ago.
What are your future plans for the studio?
In the short term, we will shoot every week to supply the new website. We will be having some special projects like the Boule-o-Thon in 2015, for sure.
Because our girls speak both English and French, they can be close to the U.S. customer and European customer also. We have some potential business partnerships that are very interesting—we just have to fix the priority and find the time to realize all the opportunities.
