Sex in the Palm of Your Hand
MONTREAL – After years as the subject of an epic legal battle between a cybersquatter and the rightful owner, followed by a record-setting sale and several misfires while the new owners looked for a way to make “the world’s most valuable domain” live up to its reputation, Sex.com is back in the game.
Once suffering from an extreme case of multiple personality disorder, Sex.com today is among the largest adult tube sites in cyberspace. According to its owners, in July the website received approximately 21.9 million unique visits from mobile devices in the U.S., Canada, Germany, the UK, Brazil, Italy, France, Spain, Australia, Mexico, Switzerland and the Netherlands.
On Monday, Sex.com launched a new mobile version, hoping to grow its audience even more. The mobile site features a sleek new design optimized for easy browsing. In addition, developers enhanced the site’s speed, cutting in half load times for a new multi-tag search and video category search functions.
The mobile site also allows users to upload pictures right from their cell phones.
Advertisers will find new spots for footer ads, header ads, smart banners, tabs and pop-unders. A spokesperson for Sex.com said the mobile site’s impressions average 40 million per month.
