Sex in the City on New Year’s Eve
NEW YORK – “Bacchanal” will take on a whole new meaning on New Year’s Eve at the Museum of Sex, where the staff and controversial performance artist Kayvon Zand plan to ring in 2015 with erotic style.
“Once you step off the street and through the museum doors this New Year’s Eve, you’ll be surrounded in the sensual pleasure of pulsating lights, flowing cocktails and an ever-changing list of DJs playing music to dance the night away,” according to an announcement distributed by the museum. The event “features four floors of delightful debauchery, including special exhibits, art installations, ‘Jump for Joy’ (a voluptuous bounce castle), a sexy crowd of nightlife creatures and more surprises to help start 2015 right.”
Zand said he relishes the opportunity to work with MoSex to produce an event on a never-before-seen scale.
“I wanted to create an environment that doesn’t just cater to one type of person, but is open for all types of orientations, age groups, demographics, different alternative lifestyles,” he said. “People automatically want to say that Sex [on Fifth Avenue] is about sex, but the party is not a sex party. It’s really a place where everyone can celebrate and have fun and really express themselves. That’s what it’s truly about.”
