Section 2257 Compliance Moves to the Cloud
DALLAS – A new website established to make 18 U.S.C. § 2257 documentation easier to maintain by storing data in the cloud has launched. Comply2257.com allows adult-oriented content providers and individual performers to manage their data from any computer with internet access and a modern browser.
According to developers at ABK Technologies LLC, Comply2257 stores data safely and securely. Proprietary software stores all data in a secure, reliable system accessible only by the account holder.
“Bottom line: It will allow users to upload and store, in one convenient place, all age-verification documents, affidavits, contracts, aliases, performance data and other legal documents required by the Child Protection and Obscenity Enforcement Act,” said ABK owner Brian Hannah.
“We don’t intend to become custodians of these records, but we are excited to provide a good tool for those who need to store such information safely and securely,” he continued. “There is a lot of technology out there that is developed to help the pornography industry make money. And, while we don’t want to be a burden for law-abiding operators, we hope our technology can eventually make enforcement of these laws easier and less costly.
“We believe that process starts with making it safe and simple for the operators to maintain the required records.”
While the product is in beta stage, all new registrations at Comply2257.com are free. ABK intends to compile information from user surveys — by phone and email — to build upon the minimal feature set in the beta release. Beta users also will be asked for feedback about pricing and other variables in development.
