Se7en Turns His Lens on Porn
YNOT – Se7en, a photographer and videographer whose mainstream client list reads like a who’s who of the glitterati, has created an adult website inspired by avant-garde art and film noir.
Shot free-form on 35mm film, the images and videos have been described as edgy and atmospheric, reflecting his dark, Gothic-esque signature style in the mainstream world.
DollhouseFilms.com, which has been featured on Playboy TV, pay-per-view and international cable networks, has attracted more than 40,000 Twitter followers in the one month since it launched. Se7en calls the site — which mixes straight, bisexual, gay and transsexual performances in intriguing, gender-defying ways — “a new approach to erotica.”
Since founding Haus of Se7en in 2002, Se7en has worked not only with major fashion labels including Chanel, Agent Provacateur and Dolce & Gabbana, but also with rock-and-roll giants like Lady Gaga, Marilyn Manson, Ministry, Tool, Muse, Nine Inch Nails and Guns n Roses. He also has used his post-modern artistic eye for big adult brands including Playboy, Esquire and Penthouse, as well as fence-straddlers like Maxim and HBO.
Along the way, his work caught the eye of Jenna Jameson, with whom he worked for three years on films including Bella Loves Jenna, Janine Loves Jenna, Brianna Loves Jenna and The Krystal Method.
“Jenna was always a classy and beautiful woman, not only on the outside but on the inside too,” said Se7en, who shoots the majority of his work in a Los Angeles-based private studio but also travels to Brazil, Madrid, Vancouver, Paris and New York on occasion. “She always cared for the entire crew and in fact spoiled us all. Her business ethic was the same, in that she was determined and honest and always did what she said. Without her, I wouldn’t have the extensive knowledge or work ethic that I have today.”
Se7en’s new erotic website features performers including Skin Diamond, Devon, Dani Daniels, Bret Rossi, Nicole Aniston, Ash Hollywood, Shyla Jennings and Gracie Glam. The site is part of the Brand Danger network, which pays $25 to $35 per sale or a 50- to 70-percent recurring revenue share.
“Content is king in the online game,” said network owner Rodeo Danger. “When I met Se7en and saw his erotic work, I knew instantly this was something we had to bring to the market. It’s daring, original content, and there’s nothing really quite like it.
“Se7en’s work is the real deal,” Danger added. “We’re extremely excited to have him on deck and believe he has an exciting future in the erotic website market and beyond.”
