ScarlettBlue.com Sees Change as a Good Thing
YNOT – Brisbane, Australia-based ScarlettBlue.com has acquired a new partner, a new look, new features and a new attitude, all in an effort to redefine porn produced Down Under. The website specializes in providing exclusive high-definition video featuring popular Aussie adult performers, glamour models and amateurs.Owner TL (Tania) Stevenson took on Jo Mason as a partner in the business. Stevenson is a noted photographer and videographer, and Mason — who recently founded Joanne Mason Creative to assist developing companies with management, adult marketing and production — is a marketing professional. Together the two women plan to expand ScarlettBlue’s online offerings and branch out into a host of associated ventures.
“Tania’s focus from the start has been video,” Mason told YNOT.com. “We think video is where the adult industry is today, and producing great video is why Tania started the site. So we wanted to make sure our video is front and center. And we wanted to make sure people could stream it. We’ve focused on developing the systems for delivering really first-class, high-quality HD video on demand.
“We’re now doing the programming to provide video download options on the site, offering both an even higher HD-quality video as well as video formatted for iPod,” she added. “Even though our video is central to the site’s focus, we’re going to make available some really hot still-photo sets, too. Other features will include posters, hi-res images and so forth.”
A professional still photographer since the 1990s with international clients dating to 2005, Stevenson has produced more than 40 covers for major adult magazines worldwide. She founded the subscription-based ScarlettBlue.com in 2009 as a way to showcase her emerging video work and promote Australian talent. In fact, the new projects the company plans to launch in 2010 include a DVD line and a television series.
The first three DVD titles are in production now, Mason said. Twisted Tales of Love, Bedroom Confessions and Starlets Down Under are collections of sensuously erotic vignettes. Some have an edgy, often darkly twisted sense of humor, and others are funny, playful, fresh and bright. Stevenson and Mason said they feel the content — some of which previously appeared on the website before it was re-edited for DVD and VOD release — will appeal to both women and men.
In addition, “We’ve signed an exclusive distribution deal for television production on leading U.S. cable and satellite systems,” Mason told YNOT.com. “At present, we’re assembling a series of three programs, with more to come after that and then international distribution. I can’t tell you yet which networks or the final titles of the programs, but the focus of these programs, and what the networks are interested in, is distinctive to the character and quality of Tania’s work and ScarlettBlue: the naughty housewife, the housewife who’s home alone and gets horny and calls up boyfriend or hubby to get off on some phone sex, the woman who sleeps in and then decides to get off on the kitchen floor….
“There are, very broadly, two genres we’re currently producing: the ‘glamour strip,’ featuring hot solo and girl-girl performances with an edgy, sensuous, often upbeat music track, and story videos that build an erotic performance around a scene or scenario, usually with a sense of humor.”
Of paramount importance to Stevenson and Mason is that ScarlettBlue continue to focus on Australian talent.
“I’m excited to be working with Tania, who brings a really great vision to adult production and a lot of talent,” Mason said. “I’m also really happy to be working again with another great Australian company.”
Stevenson, too, said the partnership bodes immense possibilities for the future of women-driven adult entertainment.
“Jo is amazing,” Stevenson said. “She understands my vision and is moving the site into directions I never thought possible. Her extensive industry experience has helped with my own production practices. Together, we’re going to be bringing out awesome stuff in the months ahead.”
