YNOT – Sasha Grey, Joanna Angel and Levi Johnston were among the winners of the first Fleshbot Awards in New York. The awards show took place Nov. 11 at The Box in New York City.Grey, a sultry pornstress who recently appeared in Steven Soderbergh’s mainstream Hollywood production The Girlfriend Experience, took the “Porn to Mainstream Crossover” award. Johnston, baby-daddy of former Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin’s grandchild, took the corresponding “Mainstream to Porn Crossover” award for his much-ballyhooed-but-yet-to-surface planned centerfold appearance in Playgirl magazine. Punk-rock porn princess Angel (BurningAngel.com) snagged the Fan Choice award for “Sexiest Female,” beating out 19 other nominees including Stoya, Grey, Faye Reagan and Andy San Dimas.

Grey was unable to accept her award in person due to a previous commitment to a production in Portugal, but Fleshbot Editor-in-Chief Lex Alptraum was full of praise for the siren.

“With everything from film acting to fashion modeling to book writing to—of course—porn performing and directing under her belt, Sasha has proved she’s a real Renaissance woman,” he noted. “And she’s created a whole new model for what a porn performer can achieve both in and outside of the industry. She was an easy pick for the Crossover Award, and we hope her experiences and her success inspire other talented women to follow their dreams.”

Alptraum also complimented Angel.

“Fleshbot readers have been fans of Joanna Angel since the very first days of her career,” he said. “It’s no surprise that she swept the Fan Choice award. She totally deserved it.”

Although Alptraum doubtless had equally glowing things to say about Johnston, whose only claim to any discernible fame is tenuous at best, The New Yorker damned the kid with faint praise.

“Johnston has a son named Tripp, who is nearly a year old, which means that Johnston is the father of the grandchild of someone people care a lot about, which makes him, by the transitive property of celebrity, someone people care a little bit about,” Kelefa Sanneh wrote for the “Dept. of Hoopla” column in the Nov. 23 edition. “And, because he has sometimes been willing to share details of the time he spent with his baby’s mother and her family, he has emerged as a quasi-political figure in his own right, celebrated, if smirkingly, by people who view him as a good-looking thorn in the side of his son’s famous grandmother.”
