Round and Round: Mick Blue’s Racing Team Tackles 24-Hour Race in Colorado

VENICE, CA – The drivers and their cars were lined up at noon on the starting line of the High Plains raceway an hour east of Denver revving their engines, waiting for the waving flag to signal the start.
Only one among this group of drivers is a bonafide superstar, albeit in a completely different world. Mick Blue is one of the most popular male stars the adult industry has ever seen and now he’s tackling the racecar circuit and he’s off to a fast start.
This race was different in a couple ways: one, it was a team event rather than individuals simply trying to outgun each other; second, it’s a race that last 24 hours straight. The long hours necessitate a team of drivers and each group had six splitting duties.
When Mick and his Porsche Boxster S – #134 – hit the road course at around 5 pm and they were in 17th place. He was supposed to be behind the wheel for a two-hour leg, but they radioed him and told him to continue. By the time his four-hour run was over his team had moved up to 4th place.
That night he caught some sleep in an RV off the track and returned at 6 am. Thanks to Mick’s terrific driving earlier in the race, the team’s boss had him drive in the team’s best car, #336, for this leg. The team was in 5th place and shooting for 3rd.
“That morning I drove my fastest two-hour stint of the weekend and handed our last driver the car scratching on 3rd place in standings. “The weekend was mind-blowing. I had never done a race before that lasted 24 hours straight. I had no idea when I was driving – I just focused on being as fast as I could be and keep the car safe!”
Mick’s team made a 4th place seconds behind the 3rd place team after 24 hours of tough racing.
“I personally grew a lot over this last weekend and wanted to thank my amazing wife Anikka for being my greatest supporter ever!” Mick said. “I love you Schatzi! I am looking forward to future races!”
