Rooftop Bachelor Party Prank Shocks Easily Shocked
PHOENIX, AZ —If a piece of artwork is sexually explicit, but nobody sees it – is it still a menace to society? Apparently so, if some of newlywed Ryan Walker’s neighbors can be believed.“It was like a hit of coffee or something in the face,” observed one neighbor. “A penis on the roof. I was like, huh, are you serious?”
According to First Coast News, other at-risk residents living near Walker’s home indicated shock that they not known about the graphic representation of male genitals had been silently threatening their peaceful slice of north Phoenix.
Walker, on the other hand, thinks “it’s hilarious.”
As he explains it, “If you woke up, and the news is at your house, and you have a giant penis on your roof, what would you think?”
At issue is a bachelor party prank that even the then-bachelor, now-husband didn’t know about until six months after the fact. But now, Walker knows that his fun-loving fellow band members decided to brighten his life – and perhaps those of airline passengers or helicopter drivers overhead – by painting a large penis on the roof of his house during his bachelor party.
His next door neighbor admits, quite sensibly, that she doesn’t care what’s on Walker’s roof, so long as she doesn’t have to see it.
Although the press doesn’t explain how the existence of the rooftop drawing came to be known, it does say that the City of Phoenix plans to discuss the matter will be dealt with by the Neighborhood Services Department – but only if someone bothers to file a complaint. If someone does manage to find a spot high enough to be officially offended from, Walker will likely be asked to paint over the work, much as he would had his home been tagged with graffiti.
That’s not a problem, says Walker, who indicates that he’ll probably paint over it, anyway, cuz he’s just that kind of considerate about the sensibilities of others.
