Romania’s Studio 20 Opens Live-Cam Studio in L.A.
BUCHAREST, Romania – European live-cam giant Studio 20 will open its first U.S. studio June 15 in Los Angeles.
Known for franchising its successful business model, the company operates five locations in three Romanian cities: Bucharest, Timisoara and Cluj. The first opened in 2013; the second, which opened in 2014, remains the largest in the network, encompassing 10,000 square feet.
In part, Studio 20 credits its growth and success to the way in which the company trains all of its models.
“We don’t use the classical ‘camgirl’ approach,” said Chief Executive Officer Mugur Cosmin Frunzetti. “Instead, we train the girls in glamour live modeling. The success of our methods is evident in our annual revenue, which has now exceeded $5 million [U.S.], as well the awards our models continue to receive.”
The list of awards is impressive. Over the past two years, Studio 20 has received GFY Awards’ Best Cam Studio (2015 and 2016), YNOT Awards’ Best Live Cam Studio (2015) and AW Awards’ Cam Studio of the Year (2016).
Models and their awards include:
Devious Angel: Best Personal Site (Live Cam Awards, 2015), Best Live Model (AVN Awards fan vote, 2016) and Best Entertainer (AW Awards, 2016)
Raquelle Diva: Best Live Cam Model (YNOT, 2015)
Mistress Alexya: Best Fetish Model (YNOT, 2015)
Zeya Brunette: Best Video Teasers (AW Awards, 2015)
Taniussha: Best Newcomer (AW Awards, 2016)
“Based on our success in opening profitable studios in Romania and training successful models of all nationalities, I chose to invest my money and efforts to prove that Studio 20’s business model and expertise can work in the United States,” Frunzetti said. “My first venture in the U.S. is strategically located in the heart of Los Angeles, just a few blocks from the famous Hollywood Walk of Fame on the same street that the Academy Awards are handed out. The renovations are almost complete, the support team was trained for over a month in our existing locations, and our state-of-the-art, 5,000-square-foot studio is ready to open.
“We have a lot of eyes on my newest location, and some people doubt the U.S. acceptance of the ‘studio’ business model and its ability to succeed in America,” he continued. “I can’t wait to have my U.S. team and our Los Angeles location prove them all wrong.”
Large live-cam platforms wish Frunzetti and his new endeavor well. Eager models, especially gorgeous European women, always are in demand.
“We hope this studio will be the best, as they are in Romania, and the LiveJasmin team will do everything it takes to succeed with the models involved in the L.A. operation,” said Karoly Papp, CEO of LiveJasmin parent company Docler Holding.
“The issue I have always had with studios in the [European Union] is that using them changes the look of our website to have a more foreign feel,” said Eric Wexel, managing partner for FreeWebcams.com. “With this Los Angeles operation, Studio 20 has changed all of that. I can’t wait to plug their U.S. models into our site.”
According Gregory Clayman, CEO of Flirt4Free parent VS Media, “Flirt4Free has had the pleasure of working with Studio 20’s international studios for some time now. It would be difficult to find a more professionally owned and operated studio for internet cam broadcasting anywhere in the world.”
