Rocks-Off Staff ‘Brave the Shave’ for Cancer Patients
LONDON – Two members of the staff at pleasure products manufacturer Rocks-Off have vowed to shave their heads as part of a special fundraiser benefiting Mcmillan Cancer Support, a charitable organization that provides financial, emotional and social support to cancer patients, their families and caregivers.
Director Ian Marshall and IT apprentice Connor Martin are Rocks-Off’s volunteers in the Brave the Shave challenge. The men have set a fundraising goal of £600, which will be approached in £100 increments. At the £100 mark, the men will receive a trim. They will remove a bit more at £200, £300 and £400. If they raise £600 or more by Aug. 31, both will shave their heads.
The effort is particularly significant for Marshall, who is known for his thick, wavy locks.
“We know cancer doesn’t just affect the body,” a Rocks-Off spokesperson said. “It affects [a patient’s] whole life and the lives of people around them. The money Ian and Connor raise will mean that Macmillan can be there for even more people now and in the future.”
