RIP Beloved Industry Photographer, Webmaster Julius “JFK” Kedvessy
Beloved adult entertainment industry photographer and webmaster Julius “JFK” Kedvessy passed away last Thursday, September 30, according to an announcement published on social media by the Kedvessy family.
“It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Julius F Kedvessy on Sept 30, 2021,” the announcement stated.
Continuing with humor of which Kedvessy himself would have heartily approved, JFK’s family went on to describe him as a “husband, father and all around stubborn asshole” whose personality was “larger than life.”
“Julius was forever on the run with various projects and businesses to occupy his time, constantly filled with new ideas of what new adventure he could partake in,” the family added. He was forever quietly doing things to help others without ever wanting any credit for himself. Even if he was incredibly opinionated he was always his most authentic self. He is leaving every single one of us telling him to ‘Fuck off’ one last time.”
The announcement of Kedvessy’s passing unleashed a torrent of heartfelt condolences, heartbroken shock, touching stories and expressions of appreciation for the beloved industry shutterbug, who tirelessly traveled the world documenting adult industry gatherings in Europe, the U.S., Canada and elsewhere for more than two decades.
Fellow photographers praised Kedvessey as a friend and mentor, while countless members of the industry who have befriended JFK over the decades expressed some version of the same sentiment: Adult industry gatherings and shows simply won’t be the same without him.
“JFK was a friend to so many of us,” said Jay Kopita, YNOT President. “Little did we all know that this wild-eyed, interesting and unique character would end up being our industry event historian. Everyone who has ever attended an industry event has ended up on FUBAR Webmasters and JFK has done such an amazing job of helping preserve so many memories over the last 20+ years. He touched thousands upon thousands of lives and made a very positive impact. I personally have been in thousands of pics over the years and cherish those memories. He’ll be sorely missed at every event.”
YNOT co-owner Connor Young added that “JFK will always be loved by the men and women who built the adult internet.”
“Before the current creator-driven culture in online adult, the industry was driven by ‘webmasters’ – which was really just a catch-all phrase for everyone from website developers to sales and marketing people, content producers and even business executives,” Young said. “JFK captured and preserved that culture through his photography so that we can always look back, and the scope of his work is really a remarkable achievement. I will greatly miss seeing his smile at our industry trade shows and events. Rest in peace, friend, and thank you.”
A celebration of life for Kedvessy will be held at the Biltmore Theatre in Oshawa, Ontario Saturday October 16, 2021, starting at 6:00pm local time. Per instructions from his family, the dress code is “Most Dapper Outfit, Suit, Top Hat, Canes encouraged” with your “Best Red Flannel back up or just something outrageous.”
