Rough Stock: Ricky Rodeo Talks Couples Cam and Success Online
Ricky Rodeo was a professional bull rider first, and a cam model second. But cam is the money horse he’s riding off into the sunset — or, at least into the foreseeable future.
The much-lauded Rodeo took some time out to speak with us about being a guy on cam, working with his partner online (and working with others, too) and why he’s currently living his best life ever.
YNOT: Can you tell us a bit about yourself… and about the rodeo?!
Ricky Rodeo: Hey there! I’m Ricky Rodeo, and I’m a straight male cam model. I’m 29 years old, and I grew up in a small town in West Virginia before deciding to venture out and explore the world. I’ve been a cam model and adult content creator for two years. I competed as a professional bull rider before I found my way into the adult industry.
I was introduced to rodeo by my grandfather at the age of seven and instantly fell in love. I’ve always been a huge adrenaline junkie, and I haven’t found anything more exciting than tying my hand to the back of an angry 2000 lb animal. I still compete from time to time, but now most of my focus goes towards creating amazing content for the world to see.
What prompted you to begin your career online?
As I mentioned, I was a professional bull rider before I ventured into the adult industry. One of the wisest people I ever knew told me that If you do what you love you’ll never a work a day in your life. I took that advice and ran with it.
My two favorite things are sex and rodeos, and I can’t believe that I get paid to both. My girlfriend Macy [Kennedy] introduced me to the industry. She had been a cam girl for several years prior to us dating, and she is responsible for a huge amount of my success in the industry. Thanks to her I came into the game with more knowledge than most people. She was basically my cam coach for the first couple months, and I can’t thank her enough for giving me the tools and advice to become successful.

What are some highlights, challenges and general observations you have about camming?
For me, the best thing about camming is being able to help people live out fantasies that they probably wouldn’t have the opportunity live out in everyday life. I try to give all of my viewers a platform that allows them to be themselves and is very freeing to them sexually. A lot of people are curious and come to me with things that they couldn’t tell anyone in their real life. It’s very rewarding to me to know that I’ve helped someone, whether it be mentally, physically or emotionally.
I think the biggest challenge of camming is putting a smile on my face every day and putting on a show for everyone regardless of what’s going on in my personal life. If possible, I try to just stay offline when I’m feeling down because I don’t hide my emotions very well, and I want my cam room to always be fun for everyone. I have a no negativity rule in my room, which applies to myself as well as the viewers.
Overall I think cam is amazing for so many reason. It gives both viewers and broadcasters an opportunity to be who they are sexually. It can create strong bonds, and lifelong friendships. Cam has honestly changed my life for the better, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
What are some of the most common misconceptions people have about guys on cam?
There are a ton, but I think the most common misconception is that you’ll have sex with anyone, anytime, any place. A lot of people assume that you’ll sleep with anyone just because you do sex work, but in reality cam models are just like normal people in everyday life. We have standards and aren’t anyone’s for the taking.
Most cammers live a pretty normal life outside of cam. People have families, spouses and many other things that prevent them from being a real life sex toy. I’m not saying that cammers don’t have random hookups, but we’re human beings — not sexual objects.

How is camming with your significant other different from working solo or from working with other partners, etc?
[My girlfriend and I] do couples shows, as well as solo shows. We try to have something for everyone, and that is the reason we do all three.
I think the main difference between solo cam and couples cam is the interaction with the viewers. A lot of solo viewers want the boyfriend or girlfriend experience. They want to know you on a personal level and build a relationship. With couples cam, it seems like people just want you to pop a show out so they can go on with their business. I thoroughly enjoy both for multiple reasons. Macy and I get complimented regularly on our playfulness on cam. We’re very organic, and I think that shows up on cam and creates a much better show.
When it comes to working with other models, it’s really simple for us. They have to be professional and trustworthy. We won’t work with someone just for the clout. We want to create great content that doesn’t involve drama or any extracurricular activity — just great porn!
Outside of camming, what are you most passionate about?
I’m obviously passionate about rodeo, but I have so many interests. I love nature and anything outdoors. I go crazy if I sit in the house. Nothing is more peaceful to me than just walking a trail in the woods. Nature is so beautiful, and I feel like too many people neglect it. I’m also very interested in photography. I would love to learn the tricks of the trade and become a great photographer. One of my current goals is to buy a high quality camera and learn how to create amazing photos.
If you could change one thing about today’s world, what would it be and why?
I would remove all of the stereotypes and labels. In today’s society it seems like everyone has to be labeled by sexual orientation, religion, political party, race, gender, etc. There are good people from all walks of life, and I think it’s ignorant to dislike someone because they’re a little different than you.
Diversity is what makes our world great. Life would be extremely boring if we were all exactly the same. If you give people a chance instead of making assumptions, you’ll come to find that you have more in common than you think. I judge a person solely off of how they carry themselves and how they treat others. Anything else is irrelevant to me. Who you sleep with or pray to has no effect on my life, nor should it.
If more people would come out of their shell and be more accepting of others, I firmly believe that our world be a much better place.
