Red Apple Expands International Data Center Network
SAN DIEGO – Hosting solutions provider Red Apple Media has secured three additional state-of-the-art data centers for its network. The new centers, located in Arizona, Virginia and the Netherlands, combined with the company’s original data center in Southern California, bring to four the number of strategic hotspots from which the company operates worldwide.
According to a Red Apple spokesperson, each of the new datacenters was researched extensively to ensure a track record of quality service, redundant bandwidth and strong local infrastructure. Fully certified and compliant, the new data centers, like Red Apple’s original center, provide connectivity through extensive peering and employ knowledgeable network engineers who stay ahead of developing trends.
“The datacenters we work with are pioneers in their own ways and often involve us in various pilot projects that keep us on top of the latest technologies and options in cloud hosting and virtualization,” Red Apple Media Vice President for Sales Michelle Lockhart said. “We are already seeing interest in what might be the next big thing: 4K high-definition video and 3D video without the use of 3D glasses. These technologies will use significantly more bandwidth than current formats, so we are beefing up our data pipes, increasing bandwidth commitments and researching the best ways to provide distributed storage for these large video files.”
Working closely with data centers allows Red Apple to ensure clients receive the services and support they need when they need them, regardless what unforeseen challenges arise, Lockhart added.
“Red Apple Media clients can create large spikes in bandwidth use and appreciate that the company’s data centers have the capacity to allow extremely high speeds without oversaturation,” she said. “And with constant monitoring, backups and redundancy, Red Apple Media clients do business confidently, knowing they’ll never be left on thin ice should their data be compromised by unexpected events.
“Like insurance, you can get by without [round-the-clock monitoring and redundancy], but it’s really nice to know you have it in place if something unexpected happens,” Lockhart said. “In our world, you can find cheap servers at many places, but with no backups, no redundancy or failover, no monitoring, no firewalls, no staff to handle problems — whether hardware failure, natural disaster or even unexpected business growth — your online livelihood is at risk.”
