Rakowski Talks Future Direction of MrSkin.com
Chicago, IL — The company perhaps best known for sexy celebrity content online has a brand new President, Internet veteran Sam Rakowski. SK Intertainment, parent company of the famous MrSkin.com, announced Rakowski’s promotion earlier this week.
“Not only is Sam an incredibly trusted and valued employee here, but he also sets a great example to our team of 45 because he works so hard to make us better,” said CEO Jim McBride. “I couldn’t be happier to give him this promotion – especially because of how he rose through the ranks to become a great leader.”
YNOT reached out to Rakowski this week to ask him about his plans for Mr. Skin, now that he’s taking a more prominent role within the company.
“Over the next few years we will continue to grow our core business in a variety of ways, starting with a complete redevelopment of the Mr. Skin website,” said Rakowski. “Slated to launch in early October, the new design will include a dramatic rethinking of both the visitor and member areas, and a bevy of new interactive user features. We also plan to add a fourth pay site by the end of the year, another well-known brand that will be a perfect fit for our network.”
The challenge with Mr. Skin has always been in deciding its identity; is it more of a celebrity gossip site, or is it adult entertainment? According to Rakowski, the answer is somewhere in the middle.
“We’ve always been in a very unique position, straddling the line between ‘mainstream’ and ‘adult’,” said Rakowski. “Part of our strategy moving forward is to leverage our many resources and connections to develop new branches of our business. This will allow us to grow beyond some of the limitations of the adult world, while staying true to ourselves.”
Rakowski certainly has the support of his CEO.
“He’s also such a likable and good guy,” says McBride. “Even though today is the 16th anniversary of the launch of MrSkin.com, our future has never looked better. We have a lot of exciting things on the horizon and I look forward to working with Sam and our skinployees to continue this skintastic ride.”
