YNOT – This week’s look at the downloading habits of folks using IP addresses registered to the Vatican probably didn’t make the Catholic Church very happy, but some of the revelations pleased an adult film studio.

An informal investigation conducted by TorrentFreak and Scaneye indicated people inside the Vatican might be praying to the porn gods instead of the Holy Father. Illicit downloads from torrent sites included BDSM and transsexual adult entertainment, the investigation revealed.

That’s just fine with adult studio Evil Angel, which found several of its performers on the list of apparent favorites. Among them: Lea Lexis, star of EA founder John Stagliano’s vampire epic Voracious; Krissy Lynn, who co-starred with Lexis in The Ass Party #4; Sheena Shaw, star of Manuel Ferrara’s Sheena Shaw Wide Open and Stagliano’s upcoming Sheena School, and transsexual adult performer Tiffany Starr, one of the up-and-coming names in the studio’s stable.

“The clergy seems to have good taste in porn,” Evil Angel General Manager Christian Mann said. “I wonder if they saw Steve Holmes’ inspired performance in Voracious as a perverted priest who serves more than a communion wafer to a kneeling Brooklyn Lee? Maybe they need some instruction if life is to imitate art, or maybe they just want a heavenly experience.”

Magalie Rheault, director of product and development for FameDollars, the affiliate program that manages Evil Angel’s online properties, indicated sins of the flesh aren’t the only transgressions involved when Vatican City residents download porn on the cheap. Lust is one thing, but adding greed to the mix is downright … well, unforgivable.

“After all the recent scandals the Vatican has been involved in, it’s good to see priests engaging in healthy viewing of adult entertainment,” Rheault said. “But I do wish they would purchase a membership instead of pirating files on peer-to-peer networks.”

In the virtuous spirit of charity, however, Rheault said Evil Angel and FameDollars would like to extend an olive branch to Vatican denizens.
