Pornhub Donates $75K to Breast Cancer Charities
YNOT – Following a month-long campaign to raise funds for breast cancer research, Pornhub has donated $75,000 to several U.S.-based grassroots charities.
In October, Pornhub launched a new phase in its ongoing Save the Boobs campaign, vowing to contribute one cent for every 30 views of videos in the adult tube site’s “Small Breasts” and “Big Breasts” categories. By Oct. 31, the categories racked up about 75 million views from big-hearted supporters around the world.
Initially, the donation was earmarked for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation, but the foundation declined to accept any gifts from an adult entertainment website. After an extensive search for alternate recipients, Pornhub handed over individual checks worth up to $25,000 apiece to organizations including the Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund and Cancer Sucks Inc.
The Eileen Stein Jacoby Fund supports young scientists in the research labs at Fox Chase Cancer Center, which have been credited with significant scientific discoveries within the breast cancer research community. Cancer Sucks Inc. is an umbrella organization that funds multiple U.S.-based charities.
“Our Save the Boobs campaign has drawn incredible support from both new and long-time viewers of Pornhub,” a spokesperson said. “It was in our very best interest to ensure that our considerable donation went to charities that would contribute 100 percent to the fight against breast cancer.
“Breast cancer research and awareness is an important initiative for us, and we wish each of the charities the best in their future endeavors.”
