Porn Career, Holy Matrimony Don’t Mix
BRISTOL, ENGLAND — When bride-to-be Haylie Hocking discovered weeks before her planned lavish wedding and reception that groom Jason Brake was a part-time porn star, she did more than blush: She dumped him.Hocking, 27, said Brake, 30, never mentioned his side job during their year-long courtship. He told her he was a fitness trainer. Hocking discovered her fiancé’s sin of omission when one of her friends uncovered Brake on a porn site while she was shopping for a male stripper to liven up the bachelorette party.
Hocking told London’s Telegraph her intended was “romantic, thoughtful and a passionate lover,” which led the couple to move in together six months after meeting at the garage where Hocking worked. She found it a bit unusual that he often disappeared on weekends to train clients at a gym, but she wasn’t put off by his behavior. When he asked her to marry him two months later, she was delighted to accept the proposal.
Her delight turned to horror and embarrassment when, after her friend’s revelation, she confronted Brake about his secret and he confessed.
“There was no way I could marry an adult film star,” Hocking said.
Brake seemed a tad confused about the uproar.
“The sex side is purely for the camera, but Haylie did not understand I was only acting,” he told the Telegraph. “I am sorry and did not want to hurt her. I still love Haylie and would have stopped doing porn if she had asked me to.”
Brake has promised to be honest with women in future relationships, but as far as Hocking is concerned, the damage has been done.
“I don’t know if I will ever be able to trust a man again,” she said.
