‘Porn Burglar’ Leaves Behind Very Personal Evidence

YNOT – Apparently, porn is getting harder to come by these days, or maybe it’s just harder to afford.
After a series of breaking-and-entering incidents at homes in a Eugene, Ore., neighborhood, police arrested Antone Forrest Deedward Owens when his DNA turned up on a towel left at one of the scenes. Owens told officers he’s addicted to pornography and gets an adrenaline rush from breaking into homes to watch porn on unattended computers.
According to police records, Owens broke into multiple homes in his neighborhood between September 2011 and April 2012. One family reported multiple break-ins between Sept. 20 and Oct. 21, all of which were noticed when a family member came home to find X-rated images on the home’s computer.
A four-month investigation began earlier this year when a female resident called police after she returned to her home to find pornography on her computer screen. An unfamiliar cell phone, towels and lube lay nearby. The woman told police she saw a man standing outside her sliding glass door. When he realized he had been “made,” the suspect re-entered the home, threatened to kill the resident, grabbed his cell phone and bolted. The woman called 9-1-1.
On March 20, another resident reported a break-in during which the perpetrator watched porn on the computer in a child’s bedroom. On April 25, a man came home for lunch to find Owens in his house watching porn on his computer. When the homeowner went to call the police, Owens exited through a bedroom window.
Police are convince more victims exist and have asked local resident to contact them if their homes have been violated, whether or not anything was taken.
Owens faces four felony counts of first-degree burglary, plus additional charges of menacing and coercion.
The homeowners who know Owens have suggested he be referred to a local social services agency for help.
