Podcast: Sell Porn or Die Trying, Mike Stabile on Banking Discrimination
AUSTIN, TX — Sell Porn or Die Trying returns with an all-new episode. Host (and YNOT CEO) Connor Young talks with Mike Stabile from the Free Speech Coalition about the increasing problem of banking and financial discrimination targeting the adult entertainment business.
The full audio for Episode 15 is available for free on YNOT, Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
“Financial discrimination is an existential threat to the legal adult entertainment industry,” said Young. “It’s hard to come across an adult-related business, even ones not producing adult content themselves, that hasn’t lost at least one bank account. Now we have credit card companies deciding what legal content companies and sex workers can and cannot monetize, all under threat of losing processing capabilities should they fail to comply. What the government can’t do thanks to our constitutional rights and protections, financial services companies are doing instead.”
Episode 15 is perhaps the most important episode of Sell Porn or Die Trying yet, and Connor and Mike discuss what’s happening, what the FSC is doing to push back, and how everyone in the industry can help change the narrative.
“I’m a big fan of what Mike does, he’s the best I’ve ever seen at representing our industry,” said Young. “Thanks to his fantastic work, we’ve all been kept well informed about the issues that affect our industry, as well as how far-right religious organizations are masking themselves with the ‘anti-sex trafficking’ ruse to harm sex worker and legal adult companies.”

“If you haven’t seen Mike on the recently released Netflix documentary Money Shot, he does a fantastic job representing us all, and I highly recommend watching it,” added Young. “If we want to make financial services more stable for our industry, part of the solution is changing the public narrative about adult, and few are doing that like Mike is doing it.”
