Playboy Radio Seduces One Million SIRIUS Subscribers with Sex Talk
NEW YORK, NY — Rabbits are famous for their reproductive skills – and Playboy Radio has proven to be just as successfully prolific.Only a member of the SIRIUS Radio lineup since this past March, the 24-hour, 365 day a year inhabitant of channel #198 has already created more than a million subscribers – and gone international, thanks to SIRIUS Canada’s launch this month.
Ned Nalle, president of programming for the Playboy Entertainment Group is confident that there’s more where that came from. “We are thrilled with the success of Playboy Radio thus far,” he assures, “and have high expectations for continued growth.”
According to Nalle, the company is glad to “see both listeners and new advertisers connecting with” programming that he deems “original and compelling.”
If Jay Clark, executive vice president of programming for SIRIUS is to be believed, the satellite radio giant is pleased with he deal, as well. “The overwhelming number of people who are opting in demonstrates there is an avid audience for Playboy Radio’s type of sophisticated and sexy programming.”
Hosts and guests on Playboy Radio programming ranges throughout the company’s portfolio, drawing upon its Playmates, magazine editors, talent, and personalities for its shows, including Playboy Morning Radio Show, Playmate Hour, Afternoon Advice, and Night Calls.
Playboy Radio will fete its ever increasing listener family’s growth this week with an appearance by Playboy founder Hugh Hefner on the Playboy Morning Show, a “What sexual fantasy would you fulfill if you had a million dollars” theme on Private Calls, and feature a number of “Million Selling Recording Artists” on its various programs. Further reaching into the adult industry, it will be the exclusive broadcast partner for the first fan-voted FAME Awards at the Los Angeles Convention Center to be held on June 24th. The show will air on July 1st.
