Playboy Prepares to Show Chinese Trademark Mockers Who’s Boss
CHINA — Trademark mockers best remember not to fuck with the Bunny, because Playboy Enterprises will not tolerate any disrespect being directed toward its internationally recognizable emblem. The style conscious American softcore adult entertainment mega giant is showing three Chinese companies the business side of the bunny, having filed suit against them for trademark infringement.
According to the state-run news organization China Daily, Playboy Enterprises has accused the three of emblazing a logo eerily similar to its own on their shirts.
Not even pretending to be clever, one Hong Kong-based company listed in the suit calls itself the Pearlboy Group, which translates into “new playboy” in its native tongue. Playboy is reportedly insisting that the company not only change its logo, but also its Chinese name.
