Pirate Registering Domains of Popular Studios, Clips Sites
A pirate is allegedly registering domains related to several popular industry studios and clips sites.
To date, registrations for eroticax.org, hardx.org and manyvidshd.com — among many others — are registered to an entity known as “Andrey.”
These registrations were identified by Takedown Piracy’s Nate Glass. Glass told YNOT that he uncovered these registrations a few months back and, where possible, notified the studios affected.
“So far none of [the affected studios] seem to have done anything about it… As a result, this guy is just getting bolder and he’s registering new domains,” Glass explained.
Currently, Glass has confirmed this pirate has registered the following studio- and network-adjacent sites:
castingx.org
eroticax.org
firstanalquest.org
hardx.org
legalporn.online
manyvidshd.com
privatehd.org
spizoo.net
teamskeet.org
trueanal.org
According to Glass, all of this pirate’s sites use studio trademarks, either in the domain name and/or, oftentimes, in the site design itself.
“Some of these sites are using corresponding brands’ official website designs and logos to make the unofficial site look more legitimate,” Glass explained.
Further, Glass explained that “Andrey” is not just some overly enthusiastic, creatively misguided affiliate.
“All his videos are hosted on a non-DMCA compliant, for-profit file hosting site called Flashbit.cc,” he said. “This guy also owns several straight up piracy sites with pirate-y domain names.”
According to one of the domain’s registration listings, “Andrey”’s full information is:
Registrant Contact
Name: Andrey
Street: Pavlenko 1
City: Kemerovo
State: Kemerovskaya oblast
Postal Code: 650036
Country: RU
Phone: +7.9049984883
Email: chigivara2009@gmail.com
Glass continued: “Based upon the login links in the footer, I’d be willing to bet ‘Andrey’ is Russian or Ukrainian… There’re also Cyrillic characters in his HTML.”
The remainder of “Andrey’s” domains use an anonymous domain registration service.
Studios with brands and URLs adjacent to “Andrey’s” need to file UDRP complaints with WIPO: wipo.int/amc/en/domains/complainant/
It would not be a bad idea for studio and platform owners to also look through relevant .org and .net URLs, among other possible variations of their intellectual property.
“People need to make sure none of their brands are vulnerable to be registered in bad faith by scumbags like this guy,” Glass advised.
