Pineapple Support Workshop Today for Those Affected by Conflict in Ukraine
Adult industry mental health resource Pineapple Support is holding an interactive workshop today to provide support to members of the adult industry affected by the current conflict in Ukraine, the organization has announced.
The “Living in an Unstable World” workshop will be hosted by licensed mental health counselor Rachael Wells today, March 3rd, at 11am EST (6pm GMT+2, Ukraine and 7pm GMT +3, Moscow).
“For anyone that has been affected by the ongoing conflict, join us as we share coping mechanisms for how to manage the intense emotions that upsetting events like this can cause,” says Wells. “With so many suffering in both Ukraine and Russia, you may feel lost, hopeless, scared, exhausted or confused. In this workshop, we will focus on connection with others and a healing exercise to ground ourselves during an unexpected time.”
Founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States and reports that it has connected over 5,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support, in the years since its founding.
“Traumatic and painful events like those we’re witnessing at the moment can exasperate underlying mental health issues,” says Tanit. “It’s times like these when we all need to come together collectively and support each other. No one should be left to grapple with negative feelings alone and we hope this workshop can help those struggling to cope, together as a community.”
The “Living in an Unstable World” workshop will take place via Zoom. It is scheduled to last one hour, but in its announcement, Pineapple Support noted that the session may extend beyond 60 minutes. The organization also implored prospective attendees to “please note that this event might touch upon themes that some may find upsetting.”
