Pineapple Support to Host Webinar on Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health resource, is to host a webinar for anyone in the adult industry that wants to learn more about borderline personality disorder (BPD). The webinar will be hosted by licensed mental health counselor Rachael Wells on Thursday, May 20th, at 5PM ET.
The “Borderline and Strong — Myth-Busting BPD” webinar will explore the disorder, its origins and development, as well as the many misunderstandings in the mental health community about this condition. Wells will also cover treatment options and support to encourage healing.
“Borderline personality disorder affects not just your behaviour and your relationship with others, but also how you feel about yourself,” says Wells. “The most important thing is that we do recover! Many with BPD can learn to live fulfilling lives with time, treatment and support. Accessing sex-positive and stigma-free support for BPD as a sex worker is paramount for treatment.”
Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organisation, which is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States, has so far connected over 2000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
“This webinar isn’t only for performers with borderline personality disorder,” says Tanit. “Rachel will also educate industry workers about the disorder, as well as providing useful insight and knowledge for those who live with or spend time with people with borderline personality disorder.”
The “Borderline and Strong — Myth-Busting BPD” webinar will take place via Zoom on Thursday, May 20th, at 5PM ET. It is scheduled to last one hour but may extend. Please visit Pineapple Support for more information and to access the webinar link.
