Pineapple Support Trauma Group Starts Tomorrow
Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health nonprofit, will host a collaborative support group focused on trauma for adult performers. The 6-week course, provided by Pineapple Support therapist Angie Gunn, begins on August 7th and will be limited to 9 participants.
“In this collaborative group, we will explore the many layers of trauma and its impact on every facet of well-being,” says Gunn. “We will provide the basics of trauma neurobiology and tools for understanding the nuances of the symptoms, while also creating strategies for healing and integration of all the parts of you.”
Pineapple Support was founded in 2018 by British performer Leya Tanit, in response to losses in the adult industry from depression, addiction and other mental illnesses. The organisation, which is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit in the United States and a registered charity in the UK, has so far connected over one thousand adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
“Trauma can be difficult to talk about if it’s not in the correct settings with the right professionals,” says Tanit. “Angie has been specifically trained in sexuality, trauma, attachment and family systems and I know this support group is going to be incredibly beneficial for all those that participate. Space is limited to 9 participants, so reserve your place soon.”
The 6-week course, Trauma’s Shadow, begins on Friday 7th August and will take place online at 6pm until 7pm each Friday until September 11th. For more information and to secure a place, visit Pineapple Support.
