Pineapple Support, Sextpanther to Launch Communication Skills Support Group
Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has announced it will host a free, online support group “to help performers build effective communication skills.” The six-week “Communication” support group, sponsored by Sextpanther, will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Bridget Bycina and will begin on Tuesday, August 13, at 2pm PST.
“Being able to communicate effectively is perhaps the most important of all life skills,” Bycina said. “It enables us to pass information to other people and to understand what is said to us. Successful communication helps us better understand people and situations. It helps us overcome diversities, build trust and respect, and create conditions for sharing creative ideas and solving problems.”
Founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018 following a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States. To date, the organization reports it has “connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.”
“Communication skills are among the most utilized and sought-after in the workplace and relationships,” Tanit said. “Great communication skills can make the difference between staying connected and aligned and achieving your goals. The good news is that improving communication skills is easier than you imagine. Join us in this support group, and we’ll cover basic principles worth following to communicate better.”
The six-week “Communication” support group begins on Tuesday, August 13, at 2pm PST (5pm EST / 11pm CET). According to the announcement, sessions will last for “around one hour” and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, through September 17.
