Pineapple Support to Sponsoring Mental Health Workshops at Fetish Con
Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health resource, will be presenting two mental health seminars at Fetish Con this August in St. Petersburg, Florida. The seminars will be held by industry therapist Jasmine Johnson, (MSW, MA, LCSW) of Blue Pearl Therapy and psychotherapist Ingrid D’Aquin of Fleur De Lys Therapy.
Sex Work and Stigma (August 8, 2019, 3PM)
Led by licensed sex worker-aware and stigma-free clinical therapist Jasmine Johnson of Blue Pearl Therapy, the seminar will include a workshop to identify the direct impact of stigma in the life of sex workers and share strategies to help normalize sex work outside of the industry.
Complex Trauma … And How to Treat It (August 10, 2019, 4PM)
Led by psychotherapist Ingrid D’Aquin of Fleur De Lys Therapy, the seminar is designed to provide information on trauma, the associated disorders and the available treatment.
Both sessions will include a short presentation by LeyaTanit, founder of Pineapple Support.
“It is important to give performers who are dealing with issues like trauma and stigma adequate coping techniques,” says LeyaTanit, founder of Pineapple Support. “By bringing sex-worker-positive, stigma-free therapists to events like Fetish Con, we can reach and connect with more performers and help start the healing.”
Tanit launched Pineapple Support in 2018 following a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illness. In just over a year, the organisation has connected over two-hundred-and-fifty adult performers to mental health services; including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
Pineapple Support’s ever-growing team of sex worker-friendly, kink-aware therapists offer face-to-face support, online video therapy sessions, group therapy and workshops. Pineapple Support also offers a 24/7, emotional-support service, anonymously connecting those in need with trained listeners. Pineapple Support is a registered 501(c)3 tax-deductible qualifying charity in the US, and a registered charity in the UK.
