Pineapple Support To Launch DBT, Emotion Regulation Support Group on Jan 11
Pineapple Support, the adult industry’s leading mental health resource, will host a eight-week online course to mitigate stress by managing emotions. The online course, run by Pineapple Support therapist Sophie Graham, will focus on DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) techniques to teach performers the skills necessary to regulate emotions in order to better cope with stress.
“Out of control emotions can make it hard to maintain friendships, romantic relationships and can even jeopardise our careers,” says Graham. “Without the skills we need to cope with difficult emotions, it’s impossible to deal effectively with stressful or distressing situations that inevitably come up in our lives. This course will teach how to recognise, understand and regulate emotions to have more choices when it comes to managing day-to-day stressors and distressing events.”
Pineapple Support was founded by British performer Leya Tanit in 2018, after a string of losses in the adult industry from depression and other mental illnesses. The organisation, which is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States and a registered charity in the UK, has so far connected over 1800 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost, therapy, counseling and emotional support.
“Sophia is a disabled, queer coach and therapist working primarily with marginalised individuals and groups and is experienced in helping others feel more able to manage the challenges in their lives in their own way,” says Tanit. “This course is going to be incredibly useful for anyone in the industry that is interested in managing stress in a healthier and more effective way.”
The eight-week DBT, Emotion Regulation Support Group starts on Monday January 11th from 11.00AM – 1.00PM EST and runs each week at the same time until March 1st. To reserve your place, please visit Pineapple Support.
