Pineapple Support CEO to Advocate for Mental Health at LALExpo
CALI, Colombia – Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support will have representatives in attendance the at the LALExpo in Cali, Colombia, from February 23-26, the organization announced Thursday. As part of their presence, organization’s founder and CEO, Leya Tanit, will “speak with studio owners, models, and platforms about the importance of mental health support within the adult industry.”
“At LALExpo, Tanit will join panels and discussions hosted by CAM4, Streamate, and WebCam Lab to address key mental health challenges in the adult industry, including burnout, online harassment, and stigma,” Pineapple Support said in announcing their LALExpo plan. “The discussions will focus on practical strategies for fostering a safer, more inclusive work environment for performers, studios, and platforms.”
Tanit said the adult industry “continues to be affected by stigma and misinformation, but we are seeing a strong and growing movement to support the well-being of performers and industry professionals.”
“Recent reports from organizations like Human Rights Watch emphasize the need for comprehensive mental health support and fair treatment,” Tanit added. “Our goal is to ensure that no one in this industry feels isolated or without access to resources.”
Founded by Tanit in 2018 after a tragic series of losses within the adult industry community stemming from depression and other mental health struggles, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. To date, the organization reports that it has “connected over 14,000 adult performers to free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support.”
“Industry events like LALExpo allow us to directly engage with the people we serve, understand their challenges, and ensure that the mental health support we provide continues to meet their needs,” Tanit said. “The demand is great and we need more partners to ensure that everyone in this industry has access to the care they deserve.”
