Pineapple Support, Brazzers Partner on Support Group for Survivors of Sexual Trauma
Adult industry mental health nonprofit Pineapple Support has announced the organization will host a free, online support group to help those in the industry who are survivors of sexual trauma. The six-week group, “Survivors of Sexual Trauma,” sponsored by Brazzers, will be led by Pineapple Support therapist Alicia Graham and will begin on Tuesday, April 9th, at 2pm PST.
“In this support group, you will have open time to share your experiences and receive support around your emotions while having the opportunity to explore strategies for encouraging post-traumatic growth,” Graham said. “This group will also focus on nervous system regulation and returning to a feeling of safety and support.”
Founded by performer Leya Tanit in 2018 after a series of losses within the adult industry stemming from depression and other mental illnesses, Pineapple Support is a qualified 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization in the United States. According to the organization, Pineapple Support has connected over 14,000 adult performers to mental health services, including free and low-cost therapy, counseling, and emotional support, to date.
“This group offers an open and accepting space for survivors of sexual trauma to receive therapeutic support, learn coping strategies, and connect with others who have shared experiences,” Tanit said. “I’d like to extend our appreciation for the generous support of Brazzers for sponsoring this vital support group.”
The six-week “Survivors of Sexual Trauma” support group begins tomorrow, Tuesday, April 9, at 2pm PST (5pm EST / 11pm CET). Sessions will last for around one hour and will take place online each Tuesday at the same time, through May 14.
