Phoenix Police: No “Scoring” During Super Bowl
PHOENIX, AZ — High-class call girls and their lesser sisters have been warned: Phoenix-area police departments only want one type of scoring in their towns during Super Bowl XLII — and it involves footballs, not any other kind.Concerned that so-called “circuit girls” and their “managers” may descend upon the area to capitalize on the volume of well-heeled sports fans attending the annual pro-football shootout, police in Phoenix, Glendale, and the surrounding areas on Saturday began stepping up anti-prostitution enforcement efforts in conjunction with the FBI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office and NFL security.
“Do not come to Phoenix to set up shop to run prostitution,” Sgt. Joel Tranter of the Phoenix Police Department warned, according to AZCentral.com.
Moreover, it won’t be just hookers who may find themselves caught in the dragnet. Tranter told AZCentral locals and out-of-town guests who seek “fun in the sun” with ladies of the evening will be arrested, too.
The police won’t just be trolling areas they think might attract working girls. They also plan to go undercover at hotels and parties and may post faux print and Web advertisements offering sexual services.
The increased enforcement during the Super Bowl was precipitated in part by the Phoenix Police Department’s successful bust of a child-prostitution ring earlier this month. A police spokesperson told AZCentral the ring moved to Mesa, AZ, from Las Vegas because Sin City authorities were pursuing it too diligently. Tranter told the news website the group also probably moved to the city to work the Super Bowl, because pimps often can get double their usual fee for underage girls.
