Coming from a celebrity market background, when evaluating which seminars I would attend at the Cybernet Expo in Montreal May 30th thru June 2nd, I decided it would be a perfect time to investigate an area to which I have not previously been exposed – the amateur market. Looking over the list of seminar offerings in this area it became clear right away that I had to attend the “Performer Panel – Online Persona,” for three reasons; Nina Marchino of http://www.ninaknowsbest.com, Seska of http://www.seska.com and Elsa Bangz of http://www.elsabangz.com. After a full night of having a good time the night before, what better way to hold one’s attention than to have three of the hottest women in the amateur segment talk about their online businesses? How deep could this be, right?
As soon as Nina started off the panel with her presentation, it became apparent how important setting up a good online persona is to having a successful amateur site. Nina started off by saying that some amateurs use their real names while others choose to use a stage name to protect their identity from potential problems that can arise from the persona one develops. Nina, by the way, has chosen to use her real name. Nina also believes that it is very important to be real and to create a personality. She states that people will pick up on it if you are being real or if there is a lack of sincerity. She also says it is important to do the things sexually that you like to do and not to mislead your members by acting out roles that you don’t like. You shouldn’t try to be all things to all people. “People know if you are having a good time. If you are, they will also enjoy themselves, which creates loyalty to your amateur site.”
Seska picked up on a similar theme, stressing that it is important to portray real life sensuality. She believes it’s about doing what turns you on versus trying to cater to what the members or visitors want. She admitted that when she first started in the business she tried to cater to all of the members, and soon learned that it was not rewarding as well as very taxing to her both physically and emotionally. She also stated that in addition to doing what turns you on, you have to know when to set limits and to draw the line with what you will and will not do. “You must realize that people come to your site to be entertained, so you should not dwell on the negatives such as family problems, money problems, relationship problems, etc, but you do need to be true to yourself and find your strong place in the amateur industry.”
Elsa, building on this theme, opened up by saying that you should base your site on your own life experiences and use your life as a tool for people to relate to you. “You are selling your personality but you may want to keep your name and personal information private to prevent problems when meeting members as well as to prevent stalkers.” Yes, women in the amateur market do run into their share of real, live stalkers! She also believes that you should be honest about yourself but you should not make your site a diary and expose too much. She also states that you have to know what people want to know about you, because you are portraying activities that are very different from what the general public “normally” does.
In closing, all three of these super hot amateur ladies meet with their members from time to time in public and they all get gifts from members on a regular basis. They have all learned to juggle their personal and professional lives as well as deal with uncomfortable experiences. They believe that you have to be the one to set limits with your members because you are the one who has the control – especially when meeting your members face to face. Your members will occasionally cross the line, and you have to be the one to get them back on track, so it is very important to have a strong “shell” to survive in the amateur market. Also, as your life and your fantasies change so should your site grow and change along with your own personal development.
