Online Complaint Center Sees Adult Industry Action
NEW YORK – A new service that helps individuals and companies to spread the word about poor service, scams and alleged fraud has seen some action from the adult entertainment community, a spokesman said Tuesday.
WePostComplaints.com, launched by WPC Net Media in June, disseminates complaints to online forums, blogs, watchdog lists and other sites that specialize in shaming cheats, scammers and others who take advantage in business relationships.
“Posting your complaint through us will let others know of the kind of shady business operation [a] company runs or defective products they sell,” the website states. “A better informed public puts pressure on the company to improve its business practices, gets the proper people fired from their positions and helps change company protocols for the better. Getting your complaint out to the masses can scare off individuals from purchasing any products/services the company offers, which has a direct impact on their overall sales.”
According to WPC marketing chief Alex Rowe, adult models and talent were among the first to take advantage of the website’s service, which it renders for a flat $9.99 per complaint.
“The site has taken off beautifully, better than expected, and we are pleased to see how many in the adult video community really see the value in the website,” Rowe said. “The site is open to anyone and everyone with a complaint, but I didn’t imagine that the modeling and adult world would gravitate so strongly to the concept, but we are happy they did and happy to oblige them.”
WePostComplaints.com primarily accepts complaints about companies and institutions, but will handle complaints about individuals if the complaint involves a commercial transaction. The site warns potential clients that “complaints should be truthful and honest (nothing slanderous or libel[ous]).”
