OMAHA, NE — In what the Associated Press called an attempt “to increase public awareness about online pornography and its effect on the community,” the Omaha, NE, Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Church has formed a task force to oppose internet pornography.Composed of 17 members of the local clergy, archdiocese personnel and Catholic members of the community, the task force plans to host educational workshops that will help area residents define the problem and assist parents in preventing access to porn by children as young as 8, according to chairwoman Mary Beth Hanus.
